Abstract

This research presents a compilation of notarial documents on the slave trade in the Atlantic through the Canary Islands during the last quarter of the 16th century. The objective of this documentary compendium is to contribute to the approach of the Atlantic mercantile relations, especially during the strengthening of the contacts in the ocean, and to expand the available information on various relative social issues about this treatment, both on slaves and traffickers.
