Abstract

Nowadays, the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul business is increasingly volatile, and it is becoming difficult for organizations to ensure an effective and efficient delivery of their products and/or services. They are also driven by increased material costs, unsynchronized processes and mismatched systems. Becomes a greater challenge for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business operate effectively and efficiently so organizations search for new methodologies, tools and technologies that allow them to innovate and improve their service. Thereby, the aeronautical industry began to apply the Lean philosophy. However, not all its tools and methodologies are applicable due to the characteristics of this industry such as the dynamics, complexity and variability of the components maintenance. The simulation emerged as a solution because it allows organizations to represent the dynamic behaviour of their processes and analyse different scenarios without impacting the real system, with changes and investments.
