Abstract

This paper analyzes some letters of complaint that circulated by electronic mail in a public university in Portugal. Our aim is to demonstrate that the hostility is a feature of the letter of complaint and, based on the analysis of indelicacy markers, we will try to show that male and female interlocutors use different strategies to express the disappointment, indignation or even anger.
