Abstract

The Production harmonizEd Reconfiguration of Flexible Robots and Machinery (PERFoRM) approach and the derived control, automation, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) architecture support the seamless production system reconfiguration, combining the plug-and-produce capability and the human role as a flexibility driver in digitalized, harmonized production systems. Following the Industry 4.0 approach, PERFoRM targets the full interoperability of heterogeneous devices and systems in real industrial environments. Moreover, it presents a strong relation to the representation and seamless exchange of manufacturing data between various entities across the entire value chain. Within this framework, Interactive Fully Electrical Vehicles SRL (IFEVS) use case is the result of the adoption of such criteria in a quite different environment from those of standard automotive: The Microfactory of Interactive Fully Electrical Vehicles SRL (IFEVS 2018).
