Abstract

After a post-moder period, we are said to have entered hypermodernity. That has not dimished individual suffering, social uneasiness or ecological menaces. That has also not diminished all kinds of pathologies. On the contrary. The changing of the times would have but raised the cadences of our lives and tended towards an excess to which we would be invited in all of our practices and raised the feeling of uneasiness, as well as the quest for meaning of many individuals, despite the ideologies of security, of health and of well-being. As hypermoderns, we would be even more empty, and more fatigued than befor by a day-to-day whose demands seem to lead the common life to the limits of what is possible by depriving it simultaneously of beliefs and values, rights and duties and making it become the simple correlate of the logics of a production techonologically more and more complex and of a consuption without other limits than poverty, destruciton and war.
