Abstract
Three specialists on Early Modern History of Spain present a critical overview of the scholarly contribution of Prof. Pablo Fernández Albaladejo on his retirement, followed by a reply by him.
My contribution focuses on one major monograph by prof. Fernández Albaladejo on the 17th-century crisis, outlining its originality but also its epistemological pitfalls relating to the limits of the inherited historiographic traditions he relied on.
