Abstract
Cicero called Herodotus ‘the father of History’. Yet, we cannot consider him a true historian. His work is rich in geographical and historical descriptions. Nevertheless, with regard to the fact, the author mixes myth and reality. We may also find a tragic dimension in his composition. This paper will explore how his putatively historical narrative makes use of both legendary and mythology.
