Abstract
The Information Technology (IT) aren't always managed and implemented in a structured way, don't always consider a proper cost / benefit ratio in the alignment with the business strategy. Often, top management and business teams have a limited view of the role of IT in organizations. On the other hand, IT professionals usually have a limited view of the strategic objectives and the organization's business. The article presents an approach to identify alignment mechanisms that integrate PMBOK Project Management processes (5th edition) and the management and governance IT using the COBIT 5 framework, to allow an improvement in efficiency levels in IT Project management, and adding value to the Organization. It also explains how the application of these practices promotes a permanent alignment between the business and projects, thus increasing the probability of success of these initiatives.
