Gone with the pandemic? Portugal and EU solidarity

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

European Union solidarity in Portuguese terms goes back to the 1974 Carnation Revolution, with a package of economic emergency aid, the renegotiation of some clauses of the 1972 commercial agreement and even pre-accession assistance. Throughout its 35 years of membership, Portugal’s posture has above all been to be European, thus joining all major EU projects and remaining committed to this community of shared values, responsibility, solidarity and prosperity.
