GEONATURA is a project funded by the key action Strategic Partnerships for higher education under Erasmus+ programme. The project is aimed to provide an eclectic and multidisciplinary formation to higher education students by means of an innovative online educational resources platform (OER) and blended learning mobility activities on applied Geomatics in socioeconomic and environmental issues within the context of sustainable development and climate change. It will address selected issues in this context with the support of theoretic background in environmental science, information and communications technology, engineering and management from top European universities engaged in this consortium such as the University Nova of Lisbon (Portugal), Delf University of Technology (Netherlands), University of Florence (Italy) and the University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK). The GEONATURA project expects to deliver educational content and case studies that can be of great relevance for higher education students related to the following thematic areas: - Applied geomatics to sustainable urban environment and smart cities - Applied geomatics to land administration, water and marine resources- Applied geomatics to sustainable agriculture, farming, forestry activities and rural development - Applied geomatics to climate change and renewable energy sourcesRelevant associated partners are included in the consortium such as ESRI Portugal. Esri Portugal is the Portuguese branch of Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), an international supplier of geographic information system (GIS) software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications.
