Abstract

GEOHEALTHS. BUILDING A HEALTH STATE INDEX FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS IN PORTUGAL The evaluation of collective health status (HS) involves the identification of determinants and on health out-comes. The construction of the Population Health Index (ISP) was developed in three phases: a) Selection of indicators that influence and characterize health status; b) Attribution of weights to each one, taking into account their capability of explain the HS; c) Construction of value curves. The PHI is the result of experts' consensus (Delphi Panel and Nominal Group Technique) and will culminate on a multiattribute value model. PHI will be applied to Portuguese municipalities, between 1991 and 2011.
