Abstract

On the map: A Kohonen self-organizing map distributes 3468 metabolic reactions over a 2D surface according to their similarity (neurons activated by reactions of the same enzyme class are identically colored). No specification of the reaction center was used. General agreement with EC numbers was observed. Red = oxido-reductases, dark blue=transferases, green = hydrolases, yellow = lyases, light blue = isomerases, pink = ligases. (Figure Presented).
