Abstract

In the fast growing and competitive market of tourism, innovation marketing strategies such as gamification are being used to attract customers. Exploiting game elements in tourist related Apps can encourage the tourists to join a tour. In the tourism industry, which is characterized by high-contact services, providing customer support beside the services can increase customer satisfaction. Tourist Companion is a GeoGamification platform which helps Tourism agents to improve their customer support services. It combines the game features of Geosocial games and Geocaching with customer support to provide competitive advantage for tourism organizations.
