Abstract

The ADVISOR Final Report includes the results from the project’s Work Package 3, which aimed at the development and testing of methodologies and tools for integrated and participatory evaluations within the context of river basin planning and management. This chapter introduces PART B by presenting a framework (integrated methodology) to implement such evaluations which is this of an Integrated Deliberative Decision Process (IDDP). The first section summarizes the lessons learned in the first cycle of ADVISOR’s research with respect to the participatory methods and tools deployed in past evaluation processes and discusses the rationale leading to the proposal of the IDDP framework. The final section presents a generic process for integrated evaluations, with a summary description of the steps included in the proposed IDDP framework.
