Abstract
This chapter equips you with the tools to evaluate One Health initiatives that address health issues at the intersection of humans, animals and the environment. It emphasizes the importance of a systematic approach to assess these initiatives’ effectiveness and impact. The chapter uses the Theory of Change (ToC) as a framework for outlining how the initiative will achieve its goals. Stakeholder involvement is a key theme, as you will learn how to collaborate with them to define the evaluation approach and select measurable indicators based on the ToC. The chapter also dives into data collection methods for both quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (interviews) data. Ultimately, it equips you to use evaluation results to inform decisions, improve programme design and strengthen future One Health efforts, ensuring a lasting positive influence on interconnected One Health topics across various sectors.
