Abstract
This article interrogates artistic practices during the revolution in the context of the MFA’s Cultural Dynamisation and Civic Action Campaigns (1974-1975). It begins by revisiting a corpus of ethnographic data collected as part of a research published in 2009 (Almeida 2009) on this initiative, assuming the potential of the second life of ethnographic data (Leopold 2008; Almeida and Cachado 2016, 2019), espe-cially what it can still tell us in light of the main themes in the anthropology of art. In this way, I intend to discuss how artists set out to intervene in reality within the scope of this initiative and how their artistic practice was configured as a platform for action, identifying in this period the emergence of an artistic and aesthetic vocabulary that is close to what is now categorized as dialogical, collaborative, participatory, community, socially committed related to participatory art, community art (Bourriaud 2006 [1998]; Crehan 2011; Flynn 2018; Sansi 2015 Kester in Garrido Castellano and Raposo 2019).
