Abstract
In this paper, Johnson $S_B$ distribution is used to model the diameter distribution of Eucalyptus globulus in Portugal. We present a new methodology to estimate the parameters of the distribution, where we develop a system of equations that relates stand characteristics with the non-central moments of the distribution. This way, we assure that the estimates obtained observe some restrictions which will enable them to keep a sensible biological meaning.
