Abstract
Two musicians, an accordionist and a cellist, who have already both gained
extensive experience in the artistic world, joined together in Stretto Duo to create a musical environment that leads to surprising results and unusual sonic atmospheres. Escape, now released on CD, features an entirely original repertoire made up of works by international composers specifically composed for accordion and cello. In addition to these works, this also includes a composition by Paulo Jorge Ferreira, an internationally renowned accordionist, who has greatly contributed to the international profile and appreciation for this particular instrumental combination that is part of the Portuguese musical heritage.
Recorded works:
•The Garden of Dreams (1997) – Mikhail Bronner (n. 1952, Russia)
•Touch (2020) – Paulo Jorge Ferreira (n. 1966, Portugal)
•Hymns (1999) – Ilkka Kuusisto (n. 1933, Finland)
•In Croce, arr. cello e accordion (1992) – Sofia Gubaidulina (n. 1931, Russia)
