Abstract

The most famous scene of Genesis represented by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel tells of the moment when the indicators of God and of Adam sprout the spark of life. This is the original touch that installs the order of the cosmos. After the Creation, in Eden, Adam and Eve taste the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, discover that they are naked, cover themselves, and before casting them out of Paradise, God wears them with animal fur. Beyond the enduring power of storytelling, history continues to attract attention, bringing with it pertinent questions. Utility object that protects from the weather and other inconveniences, according to Greimas (1987, p.84), clothing only acquires meaning when it "dresses" and fulfills the function of the to seem: obstacle and desire for transgression, clothing is the creator of a space where the interdict is established as meaning by a kind of "imperfect visuality" that is nothing more than the distance form of touch, the deepest of sensations from which develop the passions of the "body" and the "soul" leading to the aesthesis. Oscillating between to be and to seem, it’s in this imperfection that fashion operates according to its paradoxes - time, aesthetics, style, ways of life - and that we will regard this paper. Always in touch.
