Abstract
The course "Teaching Portuguese: contents, strategies and materials" was developed in the framework of the Summer School of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2018. This course pretended to consolidate fundamental concepts in the area of Grammar and Text, the analysis of the phenomenon of the didactic transposition process, familiarization with grammar and text comprehension methodologies, and the creation of original didactic materials that can be used to learn grammar contents and the acquisition of textual comprehension and production capabilities.
The four didactic sequences presented below were designed and refined during the course. These are works that reflect the two axes that guided the formation itself and the complementarity that can result therefrom:
on the one hand, the axis of Grammar, which is illustrated here by the work proposals of Ana Martins and Helena Perdigão, inspired by the principles of learning by discovery and by the notion of grammar laboratory;
on the other, the axis of the Text, exemplified by the suggestion of Noémia Machado, whose objective is the textual production in an official context, facing writing as a process.
Finally, as a result of the natural complementarity between these two axes, we present the proposal of Maria Inês Miranda, which articulates two complementary methodologies: the didactic sequence (associated with teaching-learning of textual genres) and the grammar laboratory.
