Abstract
The present investigation is based on the needs to study how the perceived risk in tourists and local residents change. The perceived sense of security and its connection with risk suffer considerable alternations from 2003 to 2010 in the collated information provided by the Secretary of Tourism from the Paraná State (SETU) and Secretary of Tourism from Curitiba. It is hypothesized that the quality of life and the ecological concerns are homologable and complimentary categories for interviewees. Secondly, both represent a potential problem that would affect the geography of the city not only for residents but for visitors. Third, there is an ongoing negotiation of perceived risks that go from one to another side with fluency. This means that the risk or a bad-image for a tourist destination covers other much broader concerns of actors. This is an exploratory, bibliographic and documental research.
