Abstract

The areas of low density and particularly those located in the interior of Portugal attended, drastically, the departure of large numbers of people and abandonment of productive activities, changing socio-economic structure and promoting territorial reconfiguration. Thus, the perception of the behavior of municipalities with populations of less than 20,000 inhabitants in the central region of Portugal is the benchmark for the study, whose aim is to combine statistical forecasting methodologies to evaluate critical variables or determine evolutionary trends and trajectories territorial.
