Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter has a two-fold goal. First, it will provide insight on how Late Mediaeval concepts on conviviality took root in Portugal through food codes, social interaction and medicine. Then, it will be shown how those concepts co-existed with the new foodstuffs of the Age of Discovery in the first Portuguese Cookbook, the Livro da cozinha da Infanta D. Maria.
