«E que o tem por máo christão»: Como a imagem relativa à comunidade dos alemães estantes no território português mudou entre os séculos XV e XVI

A presente comunicação propõe-se inventariar e classificar os factores que contribuíram para a alteração da imagem dos alemães estantes no território português entre os séculos XV e XVI. Para tal há que definir a forma como se representavam os elementos desta comunidade em ambos os períodos, ou seja, antes e depois do surgimento das ideias luteranas. Na essência, partindo da premissa nuclear de que se verificou, de facto, uma mudança ao nível da representação, pretende-se responder a três interrogações principais: qual a verdadeira amplitude das causas dessa mudança? Que manifestações assumiu, efectivamente, a mutação em questão? E, por último, qual o impacto dessa modificação na própria imagem que predominava da Alemanha no reino luso coevo?

This paper proposes to catalog and classify the factors that contributed to the change of the image of the Germans settled in the Portuguese territory between 15th and 16th centuries. To do this, we must define how the human element of this community was represented in both periods, that is, before and after the appearance of Lutheran ideas. In essence, based on the nuclear premise that there was indeed a change in the representation, it is intended to answer three main questions: what is the real amplitude
of the causes of this change? What manifestations did the mutation in question actually take? And finally, what was the impact of this change on the very image that prevailed of Germany in the Portuguese kingdom of the time?
