Abstract
The demand in railway engineering expertise is growing worldwide. E-learning engineering education helps to supply that need efficiently. Massive Open Online Courses and Small Private Online Courses, as well as serious games, are nowadays widely used in e-learning education. However, their design is not easy, especially to meet training-job adequacy expectation. This paper presents the SIGMA-RAIL Euro-Mediterranean project, which aim is to provide railway-related serious game and online courses dedicated to high-level education and to continuous training. After introducing the socio-economic background of the project and the proposed training program, the paper describes the methodology used to ensure the matching between the SIGMA-RAIL training offer and railway engineering expertise need. The proposed e-learning material is then presented.
