Abstract
Ubiquitous Computing has the main goal ofbuilding computer systems that support and facilitate the dailylives of users, without being intrusive. This paper follows aperspective that advocates a cautious and iterative approach tothe vision of Ubiquitous Computing. In this context, it ispresented a system with a particular application goal, based ona proposal of a generalized infrastructure and on recognizedtechnologies, like RFID. The system augments physical objectsin an environment with the presentation, in an automatic andpersonalized way, of additional information to identified users. The smoothness of the system implementation lets us think thatthe infrastructure, targeted to a well defined type of pervasiveapplication, is able to be gradually extended.
