Abstract

In order to adopt superconducting fault current limiters, as other technologies, electric utilities require computational tools that can be employed in simulating these devices in complex grids under different conditions, in the present case. This paper describes such tool, focusing on inductive superconducting fault current limiters of magnetic shielding type. The tool is implemented in Simulink, due to its wide application, and can easily be extended to other software packages.
