Abstract

Opting for a conduct based in the values of the Counter-Reformation, D. Friar Bartolomeu dos Mártires as prelate of the Archdiocese of Braga, was responsible for the foundation of several educational institutions, colleges and monasteries, to educate the clergy. The main goal of this article is to analyze the main interventions, planned under the spirit of the disciplinary reforms of Trent, in Braga by the holy figure of the Archbishop during the second half of the sixteenth century.
