Abstract
A matemática é a ciência dos padrões. O raciocínio matemático consiste em procurar regularidades, padrões e formular teorias com as quais se tenta explicar essas relações. Esta definição abrangente dá espaço para reunir a matemática com a música, as artes visuais, a literatura, os estudos sociais e muitas outras disciplinas. Certas obras de arte contemporânea ligam-se a certas áreas do pensamento matemático, recorrendo a sistemas matemáticos, geométricos e numéricos. Igualmente, o mundo cúmplice de contos e contas e cantos na cultura popular.
Mathematics is the science of patterns. Mathematical reasoning consists of looking for regularities, patterns and formulating theories with which one tries to explain these relationships.
