Abstract

The paper attempts to shed some light on the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in industry convergence in the European Union. In particular, whether it has improved the convergence process of the less developed countries within the European Union. While ICTs may play a significant role in the US recent growth record, it is found that the contribution of more traditional industries is at least as significant for the convergence process within the European Union.
