Abstract
Aware of the demands placed on Higher Education Institutions and the skills that their teachers are called to develop, the objective of this article is to discuss a model of pedagogical training for higher education teachers tailored to meet the specific needs of a specific group of teachers-Coordinators of 1st Cycle and Integrated Masters-Universidade Nova de Lisboa. An exploratory case study was developed. The results point to a great diversity of tasks and challenges posed to this group of teachers and, consequently, of themes that they consider pertinent to work in a context of pedagogical training. The proposal of a “tailor made” training model that is negotiated with the participants seems to meet the concern to respond to concrete pedagogical challenges and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of teaching. Finally, the interest in continuing with this training seems to reveal a growing interest in broadening the focus on professional development of teachers at that University.
