Contributo para a história da tradução em Portugal: As primeiras tradutoras conhecidas

Com esta investigação, pretendemos contribuir para aprofundar o conhecimento da história da tradução em Portugal, nomeadamente no que diz respeito ao trabalho de tradução de textos latinos para vernáculo por três mulheres, nos fins da Idade Média e inícios do Renascimento. Neste âmbito, analisaremos os dados que se conhecem acerca de três tradutoras cujo trabalho chegou até nós —D. Filipa de Lencastre, Infanta D. Catarina e Leonor de Noronha, fazendo uma breve excursão pelas obras de que são autoras ou tradutoras. 

This research aims to improve knowledge about the history of translation in Portugal, focusing specifically on the vernacular translation of Latin texts carried out by women at the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance period. To this end, we will examine the information available on three woman translators whose work has come down to our days-Philippa of Lancaster, Infanta D. Catarina and Leonor de Noronha-, providing a brief survey of the works they have either authored or translated.
