Abstract

Due to the greater presence of technology, we can say that we are increasingly more connected through the internet. That being said, there are companies that take this phenomenon even further and try to include in buildings more and more smart devices, in order to automate more processes in those places, and also workplaces. Hence the appearance of so-called smart buildings. One of the problems associated with these buildings is linked to the occurrence of disasters, whether they are natural or not, in a building with dozens of floors, evacuation is difficult. In this line, it would be in the interest of these large companies, to have systems capable of using, the networks already present in their environments linked to their many smart devices, towards the common goal of safety for all involved. In this paper we describe the development of a model for a system that enable the different players to collaborate, supported by collaborative networks methods, sharing useful information to solve the problem and evacuate the building. To validate such a model, it is described the development of a simulation environment, where it is possible to put that model into practice and simulate various types of disasters, with parameters that can be changed and different characteristics, so that the model can be validated.
