Abstract
In addition to archaeological digs in the Castelo Branco fortress in the beginning of the 1980’s, there are some fortuitous findings in the place from all over the 20th century. Most of them are unpublished and are part of the private collection of Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior, who has created an archaeological museum in 1910, which is named after him today. There were some artifacts from the castle and the surrounding area, mainly from the Roman and Medieval Era.
