Abstract
In the 1940s, the Salazar regime launched a series of combined military operations with Franco's repressive forces to occupy cross-border sanctuaries of the anti-fascist guerrillas. One of these operations took place in November 1944 in Campo Maior, in what was known as "Republican Andorra." Our article aims to shed light on this micro-war event, drawing on barely explored Spanish documentary sources and Conflict Archaeology to understand that landscape of resistance. Along these lines, we delve into the historical context of the operation, provide novel information on the individuals who suffered repression, and identify residential spaces occupied by them in the field.
