Abstract

The eHandbook aims to inform teachers and parents on how Animal Assisted Education can be a complement to formal education. Of the books that currently exist in the international market on Animal Assisted Interventions, few are dedicated exclusively to Animal Assisted Education. The e-Handbook (available in English) is the result of collaborative work that brought together all the members of the consortium taking advantage of the diversity of skills and experiences. It is composed of 7 chapters, including an explanation of the assessment of language proficiency and reading skills of non-native primary school children tools, of the R.E.A.D program and how it can be implemented and best practices.
