Abstract

Isabel Castro Henriques is one of the most prominent historians of Africa in Portugal. This interview, held in December 2018, was a deliberate choice for an issue with a dossier dedicated to the history of the commemoration of the "Portuguese Discoveries". Following Isabel Castro Henriques' scientific and professional career, developed between the universities of Paris and Lisbon, we talked about the relationship between history and colonial ideology and the academisation of the History of Africa in Portugal, a process in which she was a pioneering figure.
