Abstract
In a momento when a global balance of archaeological studies in Africa is made in Portugal, it seems useful to follow the long and often devious path, undertaken by Portuguese scholars living in the (then called) overseas provinces, or by those coming from the metropolis. Hence, we will identify actors, spaces and thematic of production, transmission and reception of knowledge on the Prehistory of Guinea, Angola and Mozambique. Moreover, we will compare this and the surrounding reality, aiming to understand the roots of resemblances and differences detected, having the politics of the New State for background.
