Abstract

EVALUATION OF LIDAR DATA FOR EXTRACTION OF URBAN PARAMETERS. The acquisition of 3D topographic data by Airborne Laser Scanning System, also called Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR), has a great potential in the field of urbanism, with respect to the acquisition of urban parameters that involve the third dimension. This paper presents an analysis of a LiDAR point cloud, which covers an area of Praia de Faro, with the objective of extracting two urban parameters: height of the facade building and total volumetry. These parameters will be evaluated by comparison with topographic data acquired by reflectorless total station.
