Abstract

The troubadours' love songs, especially from Galaico-Portuguese
literature, are those that best reflect the influence of Hispano-Arab literature,
where the lady (the beloved) draws near to God. The myth of Layla and
Majnûn, as well as Ibn Arabi's "Treatise on Love", demonstrate that there is a
connection with platonic love, existing similarities and differences between
Sufi love and Courtly love, acquiring a divine aspect, where the relationship
with the woman (the beloved) is similar to the relation of the Sufi with God.
