Abstract

The development of synchronous circuits has gradually become a challenging task due to progressively larger and more complex systems. For this reason, globally asynchronous locally synchronous (GALS) systems emerge as a solution due to their modular design and capability to partition the global clock signal. The DS-Pnet (Dataflow, Signals and Petri nets) modelling language and its associated framework IOPT-Flow aim to simplify and accelerate the development of cyber-physical systems. This papers contribution is to understand what adjustments need to be made to the DS-Pnet formalism to facilitate a GALS system.
