Abstract
Este artigo pretende analisar, através de uma perspectiva histórica e sociológica, o plano de recuperação econômica aprovado no âmbito da União Europeia (UE) para fazer frente aos efeitos da pandemia de coro-navírus. Discutem-se os principais desafios que persistem na União e investiga-se como a crise pode agravar problemas existentes. O artigo traz os primeiros resultados de uma pesquisa exploratória em anda-mento. Metodologicamente, apresenta-se um panorama baseado nos documentos oficiais e informações extraídas de fontes especializadas. Conclui-se que a aprovação do plano demonstrou a capacidade de ação conjunta da União em um momento crítico, porém persistem os desafios políticos que podem colocar em causa o plano de recuperação econômica e o próprio futuro do Bloco.
This article intends to analyze, through a historical and sociological perspective, the economic recovery plan approved within the Europe-an Union (EU) scope to face the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The main challenges that persist in the Union are discussed, and it is investigated how the crisis can aggravate existing problems. The arti-cle brings the first results of exploratory research in progress. Meth-odologically, an overview is presented based on official documents and information extracted from specialized sources. It is concluded that the plan’s approval demonstrated the Union’s capacity for joint action at a critical moment. Still, the political challenges that may jeopardize the economic recovery plan and the Bloc’s future persist.
