Abstract
The possibility of identifying oil components by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) is considered. For this purpose a preliminary study has been carried out with glycerol. The apparatus used consists of a potassium ion source, an extraction system, a quadrupole mass spectrometer and vacuum equipment.
