A musicologia luso-brasileira duma perspetiva portuguesa: o estado da arte e uma visão para o futuro

Nos últimos cerca de quinze anos, graças às pesquisas e publicações de um número cada vez maior de estudiosos nos dois lados do Atlântico, houve um avanço significativo no nosso conhecimento sobre diversos aspetos da história da música em Portugal e no Brasil – especialmente no que diz respeito à sua inseparabilidade. Neste texto procuramos realizar um levantamento dos contributos de uma série de instituições e indivíduos, numa tentativa de expor algo do “estado da arte” em Portugal e as bases de um projeto ambicioso para o futuro.

In the last roughly fifteen years, thanks to the research and publications of an ever greater number of scholars on both sides of the Atlantic, there has been a significant advance in our knowledge of many aspects of the history of music in Portugal and in Brazil – and especially with regard to their inseparability. In this text I shall try to produce a survey of the contributions of various institutions and individuals, in an attempt to outline the ‘state of the art’ in Portugal and the bases for an ambitious project for the future
