Abstract

The reformist policy of the Marquis of Pombal, was configured in the Azores with the creation of the captain-general which, in turn, led to the constitution of new institutions in the city of Angra. The goal of this article is to study one of the new institutions- a Junta da Fazenda (Finances), the organization of the leases of royal contracts and the personal/ institutional relations that the contractors had with the central power .
