Abstract
The propose is to analyze the Algarve’s tourism institutionalisation process, with the Sociedade de Propaganda Portuguesa publications as a background. The prime responsibles for the creation of the region´s discloser means were identified, from the events that occurred as the Congresso Algarvio da Praia da Rocha in 1915 and the delegations network and weather forecast stations created in the region. The Algarve Tourism History is still to be written. This work is assumed as a modest contribution to this study, involving data, context and structural analyzes, going through History and Economics, but also transports, communication means, Anthropology and Sociology, between other theme fields.
