Abstract
The autors present an archaeological site containing a habitacional context of Modern Age Lisbon. The Beco das Barrelas in Alfama, located in an area marked by a prolonged human presence, suffered during the Modern Age a series of transformations that resulted in the development of a living quarter, whose frame, survived, in some extent to this day. This place stands out for having preserved in its stratigraphy several structural remains, from the different occupational stages and architectural changes, together with a vast collection of househol materials. It’s our objective to analyse the evolution of this place throughout its history the Modern age, to this day, with the help of the structural data and the materials, and define chronologies for these transformations.
