Abstract
This article analyzes everyday experiences, highlighting the musical practice, inside a religious cloistered Cistercian female community, the monastery of St. Benedict of Cástris, in the post-Tridentine period. It regards the accuracy of compliance with both the foundational rule and the post-conciliar norms generated and supervised by male clergy either secular, the archbishop of Évora, and regular, the monks of the Autonomous Congregation of Alcobaça.
