The 8th workshop on quantitative approaches in object-oriented software engineering is discussed. The workshop attracted participants from both academia and industry that are involved/interested in the application of quantitative methods in object oriented software engineering research and practices. 15 papers, 9 authors were invited to present their position as discussion topics and 3 other to present posters. During the second part of the session, additional issues such as quantitative visualization of large sets of software artifacts, paradigm independent product metrices, process vs product attributes, and metric-based reengineering were identified as future challenges.
