Personal profile

Research interests

During my master´s degree studies, I acquired significant experience and knowledge about the influence of the environment on Human Biology and its importance at the public health level.
More recently, I have worked as a research fellow in the project “Improvement of epidemiological health information to support public health decision and management in Portugal – towards reduced inequalities, improved health and bilateral cooperation”, at the Department of Epidemiology, National Health Institute Doctor Ricardo Jorge. Within this project, I have acquired a lot of epidemiological and statistical skills, being part of a very dynamic research team. Among the activities performed, in addition to the lab activities, I have performed statistical analysis and epidemiological interpretation of data related to the Health Status of the Portuguese population, including genetic characteristics, having written several articles published in international journals with Peer review.
I am now doing my PhD in Public Health, specifically in Epidemiolgy, and I will study the effects of air pollution exposure on cardiovascular outcomes.
